Southern Maryland Hospital will honor thirteen EMTs, paramedics and police officers from the surrounding counties tomorrow night during the 2nd Annual Appreciation Awards Dinner.

The event will be held in Clinton and will cover all of the departments in Region V of the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems. This includes Prince George’s, Calvert, St. Mary’s, Charles, and Montgomery counties.

Prince George’s Acting Fire Chief Marc Bashoor will attend the event, along with Prince George’s Acting Police Chief Mark Magaw, who have both been nominated for permanent position, according to The Gazette.

In addition to the local public safety officials, patients who have been saved by these officials will also attend the ceremony.

I’ll be covering the event as a freelancer for The Gazette tomorrow, so continue to check their website or follow me on Twitter and I’ll post the link when it is published.
